Favorite Books

I have organized these books into four categories:

  1. Books that actually are songs: my favorite versions.
  2. Books that have wonderfully rhythmic texts and lend themselves to becoming songs! I use these in music classes for pre-schoolers through Grade 3. For most of these, I have created my own melodies.
  3. Books that I use for rhythm exercises with drums and xylophones.
  4. Books about making music, us as musicians and artists, or to accompany instrumental pieces.
*Songs followed by an * are songs that lend themselves to multiple layering of instruments as they follow a cumulative pattern.
