Joanie Calem is a singer/songwriter and educator, who has created musical experiences for families, pre-school programs and adult audiences since 1983, both in the US and in Israel. Fluent in both Hebrew and English, Joanie lived in Israel for 23 years, and she sings traditional and original songs in Hebrew, Ladino, Yiddish and English, and weaves stories, dances and games from the international Jewish family throughout her presentations, incorporating movement, puppets and other fun props.

Joanie brings her unique combination of interests and talents to congregational Zimri'ot, Tot Shabbat programs, Religious School events, and teacher workshops. With a wide repertoire of Jewish songs for every occasion, Joanie will enrich holiday celebrations and enhance learning experiences for audiences of all ages.
